Rio Caribe is a small fishing village on Venezuela’s eastern coast, near Carúpano, on the Paria peninsula. It is from this place that the cacao takes its historic commercial name: Carúpano.
Rio Caribe is a Trinitario cacao hybrid and one of the most emblematic cacaos in Domori’s history. Within our Hacienda San José plantation in Venezuela, a dedicated area has been reserved exclusively for this variety, with the purpose of preserving and enhancing local cacao hybrids.
A cacao that tells the story of our origins and our identity. During his years in Venezuela, Gianluca Franzoni played a pivotal role in its rediscovery and revival.
